Steve was born and raised in the Alpena area. He was saved at the age of eight years old. After he graduated high school, Steve worked in a trade for a few years and then joined the military where he served for the next ten-and-a-half years. Upon leaving the military, Steve served faithfully in many capacities in his local church, and in 2002 God called him and his family (his wife, Amber, and seven children) to the mission field in Mexico, where they arrived and went to work in June of 2003. In thirteen years of service as a missionary, Steve helped plant three churches, which then started six more mission churches. He facilitated Bible studies, worked alongside of other local pastors living in the same state and ran an orphanage where he and Amber were parents to an average of 35 kids at a time, and had over 140 children go through their care.  In 2016, God led Steve back to Alpena and graciously allowed him to help plant Fresh Water Bible Church. Steve is a proud grandfather of 17 grand kids and counting. He currently serves Fresh Water as one of our bi-vocational pastors. One of his primary responsibilities is preparing and leading our music ministry.
